BMS010B0
DESCRIPTION

Proximity is determined by detecting changes in reflection. When an object enters the detection range, the reflected energy of the infrared will change. The BMS010B0 is a development board based on the proximity sensing MCU BS45F3232.

Using the development platform, Infrared (IR) Proximity Sensing Workshop, e-Link, and BS-ebridge, you can evaluate the MCU's performance more easily. BS-eBridge is used to isolate signals and act as a communication bridge between target boards and PC software.

Multiple parameters that can be set in the infrared proximity sensing workshop. By downloading settings to the MCU, you can observe signal changes and generate program codes from the platform. For programming, you need to use e-Link with HOPE3000 for e-Link. Additionally, the program codes can be used for further development.

The product provides a proximity sensing module socket, you can use theBM32S2031-1 with platform to replace Arduino UNO.

FEATURES
  1. Parameters can be adjusted easily by Infrared (IR) Proximity Sensing Workshop
  2. The sensing signals display by patterns
  3. It can be used with a proximity sensing module.
  4. You can upload parameters of MCU or modules to the platform for adjustment. You can adjust parameters in the platform and download them to MCU or modules as well.
  5. You can generate program codes from the platform for further development.
HARDWARE OVERVIEW
1. Modules cannot use I/O functions that are dedicated to MCUs.
2. LED functions can only be modified in the program codes.
GETTING STARTED

The product provides two usage methods:
1. Use as a development board to evaluate the performance of BS45F3232.
2. Use as an evaluation board of proximity sensing modules.

Let's see how we get started in these two ways.

As a MCU development board

  1. Download the development platform, Infrared (IR) Proximity Sensing Workshop, software on Holtek's website.
  2. Place the jumpers on MCU selection of Uart Switch and RX and TX selections of MCU.
  3. Connect the development board to BS-ebridge, and then connect the BS-ebridge to a computer. Wiring is as the below picture.
  4. Open the platform software. Select the MCU (BS45F3232) and create a project.
  5. Select the power. Generally, the connection status turns into "Connected".
  6. You can set parameters in the "Signal" label. Download the parameters into the MCU and start sensing by clicking "Start".
  7. Place an object (such as a hand or a sheet of paper) above the sensor to sense the position. The infrared signal in the platform turns red when triggering the threshold value. The infrared signal turns green if the threshold value is not triggered.
  8. Click "Compiler" icon to generate program codes if you have completed the setting.
  9. You can do further development with program codes and use e-Link and HOPE3000 for e-Link or e-WriterPro and HOPE3000 for programming.

As an evaluation board of proximity sensing modules

  1. Download the development platform, Infrared (IR) Proximity Sensing Workshop, software on Holtek's website.
  2. Place the jumpers on the IR selection of Uart Switch.
  3. Insert the modules to the development board and then connect the development board to BS-ebridge. Connect the BS-ebridge to a computer. (the module we use is the BM32S2031-1). Wiring is as the below picture.
  4. Open the software, and create a project.
  5. Select the power. Generally, the connection status turns into "Connected".
  6. Click "Start" button in "Signal" label to begin the sensing. You can set the parameters in the platform, and download the settings into the module.
  7. Place an object (such as a hand or a sheet of paper) in front of the module to sense position. The infrared signal in the platform turns red when triggering the threshold value. The infrared signal turns green if the threshold value is not triggered.
  8. Click the "Auto Adjust" button in the "Auto Adjust" label to enter the learning mode.
  9. To change the infrared detection position, place something, such as a sheet of paper, in front of the module. For example, if you want to change the detection position to 50cm, place something in front of the infrared sensor from a distance of 50cm.
