The BMH83M002 is an oximeter and heart rate module that is composed of a breakout board and the oximeter and heart rate module BMH08002-4. The product supports to measure blood oxygen saturation (SpO2), heart rate and perfusion index (PI) via UART interface.
The product includes three data transmission modes, you can select the mode based on your application.
- Periodic Sending mode (default)
- Inquire-respond mode
- Continuous uploading mode (used for applications where it is required to display PPG waveforms in real time)
Refer to datasheet of the BMH08002-4 for more information.
BMH83M002 has the same functions as the BMH08002-4. The difference between them is that the BMH83M002 uses level shift circuit and a LDO IC HT73L30 to breaks out the BMH08002-4’s pins to match BMCOM connectors and can directly connect to BMduino development boards, such as BM53A367A.
You can use the product with other development boards, such as Arduino UNO, as well.
Precautions for Measurement
When using this module in practice, some people may find it easy to measure successfully, while others may experience frequent measurement failures.
Based on our testing experience, successful measurements rely on several key points.
Please take note of the following when performing measurements:
Place your finger flatly on the measurement area. Your finger should cover the entire measurement area to avoid any interference from indoor lighting.
Do not apply excessive pressure when pressing your finger; keep it relaxed.
Keep the measurement area clean by wiping it with a clean tissue.
★ The measurement needs to take approximately 15 seconds to output the measurement result.
Please keep finger on the measurement area and avoid moving it.
