DESCRIPTION
BMC77M001 has the same functions as the BM7701-00-1. The difference between them is that the BMC77M001 includes level shift circuit and a LDO IC HT7533 and breaks out the BM7701-00-1’s pins to match BMCOM connectors.
With the BMCOM, you can directly connect the product to BMduino development boards, such as BM53A367A.
No longer needs to use additional devices like the breakout board of BM7701-00-1, the RF development board, and the programmer. This improvement simplifies the evaluation.
You can use the product with other development boards, such as Arduino UNO, as well.
GETTING STARTED
STEP 1: Download the "BCBLEDemo" APP.
You can scan the below QRcode to download the APP or search "BCBLEDemo" on Apple app store.
We did not launch the APP on Android Play store. To use the APP, you need to scan the below QRcode, download 'bcm7602.apk', and install it.
STEP 2: Turn on Bluetooth function of your mobile, and connect the BMC77M001 to the development board.
In the below steps, we use the BM53A367A for the demonstration.
STEP 3: Power up the BM53A367A, open the APP, and then click on the Bluetooth icon in the upper right corner.
STEP 4: You can find the BMC77M001 listed under the available pairing options. Click on it.
STEP 5: Pairing succeed! Let’s start evaluating the BMC77M001’s functions.
DIFFERENCES BETWEEN BLUETOOTH 5.2 AND 4.1 BLE
Both versions of Bluetooth 5.2 BLE (Low Energy) and Bluetooth 4.1 BLE are wireless communication standard.
In addition to having a longer transmission range and faster speed compared to the 4.1 version, the 5.2 version of Bluetooth also has some functional differences.
Advertising Extensions
Bluetooth 5.2 BLE introduces Advertising Extensions, which allow for longer advertising packets and can transmit larger amounts of data during advertising.
Channel Selection Algorithm #2 (CSA #2)
Bluetooth 5.2 BLE has a new channel selection algorithm that reduces interference from other wireless devices operating in the same frequency range. CSA #2 improves coexistence with other wireless technologies, resulting in more reliable connections in environments with high levels of wireless interference.
LE Secure Connections
Bluetooth 5.2 BLE provides support for LE Secure Connections, which offers stronger pairing and encryption protection against eavesdropping and man-in-the-middle attacks.
Audio
While both versions support audio streaming, Bluetooth 5.2 BLE introduces support for Isochronous Channels, which enables the transmission of high-quality, low-latency audio streams.
Compatibility
Bluetooth 4.1 BLE is an earlier version and may not be compatible with devices that support Bluetooth 5.2 BLE. However, Bluetooth 5.2 BLE devices are generally backward compatible.
